Yeongyang-gun, Full-scale Implementation of Senior Job Project for the New Year 2023

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk, will officially launch the 2023 Senior Job and Social Activity Support Project from the 26th to support the healthy and active old age of the elderly.


The senior job project was prepared to provide customized jobs to elderly people who wish to participate in society, and to support a stable old age life and social participation opportunities through income generation.

This year, the county plans to invest a budget of 5.9 billion KRW, an increase of 400 million KRW compared to last year, in the public interest activity type project (environmental improvement, cleaning at senior centers) to provide jobs to 1,753 elderly people.


Yeongyang-gun stated that except for 12 applicants who did not meet the qualification requirements among the total applicants, all others will participate.


Also, before the full-scale project implementation, in January, a workbook will be produced for participants to conduct non-face-to-face individual safety education to prevent winter safety accidents and to improve understanding of senior job tasks.


Depending on seasonal weather conditions, the project will be operated flexibly by shortening working hours, switching to indoor activities, temporarily suspending senior job project operations, and extending working hours to resolve labor shortages during busy farming seasons, aiming to increase the satisfaction of the elderly.


County Governor Oh Do-chang said, “I hope this job project will be a strong support for the healthy and active old age life of local elderly people,” and added, “We will continue to spare no support in the field of senior jobs to promote continuous social participation of local elderly people and relieve their economic burdens in the era of 100 years of age.”
