Incheon Yonghyeon·Hakik 1-Block Urban Development Project, Construction of Deep Tunnel... DCRE Accepts Administrative Disposition

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] The conflict between Incheon City and the developer over noise reduction facilities in the Yonghyeon-Hakik District 1 Block Urban Development Project in Incheon has been resolved for the time being. The developer, DCRE, has decided to fully accept the city's administrative disposition.

Incheon City announced on the 25th that DCRE withdrew the administrative appeal it had filed against the city's administrative disposition.

Previously, in November last year, the city took administrative action to change the noise reduction facilities from soundproof walls and low-noise pavements to a deep tunnel after DCRE violated the Urban Development Act by constructing some apartment complexes near the Second Gyeongin Expressway as high-rise buildings, contrary to the originally approved development and implementation plans.

In response, DCRE and prospective residents filed complaints through online citizen opinions and requested an administrative appeal, claiming the city's administrative disposition was unfair.

However, recently, DCRE presented a plan to comply with the administrative disposition to the city and agreed to submit all development plan documents reflecting the construction of the deep tunnel by the end of March.

As the developer has accepted the administrative disposition, the city plans to actively coordinate with related agencies to ensure the project is completed by the end of next year as scheduled, so that there will be no inconvenience for residents moving in.

The Yonghyeon-Hakik 1 Block Urban Development is a project by DCRE, a subsidiary of OCI, to build eight apartment complexes and two mixed-use business and residential complexes on approximately 1,546,000 square meters at 587-1 Hakik-dong, Michuhol-gu, Incheon, accommodating a total of 13,000 households and 33,000 residents.

So far, three complexes (3,774 households) have been sold, and residents are scheduled to move in sequentially starting from March next year.
