Seasonal Exhibitions and Luxury Hotel Stays Together
Two Tickets Each for Ground Siso Seochon and Seongsu Exhibitions
Hanwha Hotels & Resorts The Plaza announced on the 25th that it will offer the 'Check-in Art' package, which allows guests to enjoy both relaxation and exhibitions at a luxury hotel, until December 31.
With the recent surge in demand for cultural and artistic experiences, art staycations that combine exhibition viewing and relaxation are gaining popularity. The package that The Plaza launched last year in collaboration with the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art also achieved twice the performance compared to other room products.
This year, The Plaza newly planned an annual art package linked to various exhibitions throughout the year. The Check-in Art package consists of a one-night stay in a deluxe room and two tickets each for the 'Groundsiso' exhibitions in Seochon and Seongsu. Groundsiso is a platform that plans and introduces exhibitions featuring domestic and international creative works. Since presenting Korea's first Van Gogh media art exhibition in 2014, it has attracted the interest of the MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) by hosting exhibitions such as the 'Yumi's Cells Special Exhibition (2020)' and the 'Yoshiko Photography Exhibition (2021)'.
Currently, Groundsiso Seochon is hosting the 'Anonymous Project' exhibition by director Lee Shulman, which features 800,000 photographs collected from the United States, the United Kingdom, and other countries. In Seongsu, over 200 photographs by artist Natali Karpushenko, who captures the beauty of nature, are being showcased for the first time in Korea. The tickets are valid until the exhibitions end on April 2 and May 7, respectively.
A representative from The Plaza said, "Recently, hotels are shifting from being merely places to stay to lifestyle platforms where guests can enjoy leisure," adding, "Going forward, The Plaza plans to offer various staycation promotions that allow guests to experience cultural and artistic activities along with relaxation at a luxury hotel."
