Shinsegae Academy has planned a special lecture introducing asset management, retirement preparation financial products, and small investment tips amid high inflation and high interest rates.

On the 25th, Shinsegae announced that it will newly introduce the 140-minute financial trend special lecture "Money Trend 140" in the spring semester courses starting in March. Money Trend 140 is a themed lecture conducted directly by real estate, stock, and financial investment experts selected by Shinsegae, as well as influencers such as Genesis Park and Shu & Shu. It is designed to introduce the latest financial trends such as the 2023 real estate outlook and promising stocks, and to allow participants to hear firsthand the experiences of experts and influencers on small investments and real estate survival strategies amid high interest rates.

Representative courses include "2023 Real Estate Outlook and Trend Intensive Analysis," which covers the newly changed 2023 real estate policies, and "Investing in Derivative Financial Products with the Queen of Finance Shu & Shu," which teaches fund investment tips using pension savings accounts. Shinsegae reflected customer feedback requesting time to communicate with instructors during lectures, moving away from the traditional one-way lecture format by allocating 20 minutes for Q&A separately from the 120-minute lecture.

Accessibility to the courses has also been improved. Among over 40 special lectures, about 30, accounting for 75%, are scheduled as weekend courses to increase participation rates among office workers interested in financial management. According to an open survey, one in five MZ generation (Millennials + Generation Z) office workers holds multiple jobs ('N-jobbers'), and the additional income generated is used for financial management, indicating a high interest in financial management among young office workers amid uncertain economic prospects.

Shinsegae plans to attract young office workers by scheduling financial management courses, which were mainly held on weekday afternoons, primarily on weekends. Representative courses include "Starting with Savings and Preparing for Retirement with Small Real Estate Investments" and "Easy and Fun Introduction to Proper Stock Investment" for young beginners, as well as "Real Estate Survival Strategies Amid High Interest Rates" and "Creating a Lifetime Monthly Pension of 5 Million Won" targeting middle-aged and older adults.

In addition to financial management courses, special lectures on edu-consulting for customers preparing systematic education for their children in the new year and home interior tips suitable for spring have been prepared. The edu-consulting, planned together with learning experts, is a special course designed for parents who are considering effective study methods in Korean, English, and math ahead of their children's elementary school admission. Representative courses include "Notebook Organization Guide for Elementary Children," "Dr. Hong Hyun-joo's Mom is the Best English Teacher," and "Mastering Korean Literacy Before Admission."

Applications for Shinsegae Department Store's spring semester academy courses can be made from the 1st of next month at the academy reception desks of all Shinsegae Department Store branches, as well as online and via mobile.
