McIlroy 1st, Scheffler 2nd, Rahm 3rd Positions Secured
‘PGA star attraction’ Kim Joo-hyung (photo) has risen to 13th in the world rankings.
On the 22nd (local time), Kim Joo-hyung moved up one spot from 14th last week to 13th in the men's golf world rankings, marking his personal best ranking. Kim earned points by finishing tied for 6th at the American Express (total prize money $8 million) of the 2022/2023 PGA Tour season, held at the Stadium Course (par 72, 7,187 yards) in La Quinta, California. This is his third top-10 finish of the season, following a tie for 5th at the season-opening Sentry Tournament of Champions (TOC) two weeks ago.
Rory McIlroy (Northern Ireland) remains in 1st place, with Scottie Scheffler (USA) holding 2nd. American Express winner Jon Rahm (Spain) climbed one spot from 4th to 3rd. Cameron Smith (Australia) is 4th, Patrick Cantlay 5th, Xander Schauffele 6th, Will Zalatoris 7th, Collin Morikawa 8th, Justin Thomas (all USA) 9th, and Matthew Fitzpatrick (England) 10th.
Korea’s players are Im Sung-jae at 19th, Lee Kyung-hoon 36th, Kim Si-woo 40th, Kim Bi-o 133rd, Kim Sung-hyun 139th, and An Byeong-hun at 208th. Victor Perez (France), winner of the DP World Tour (formerly European Tour) Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, jumped from 111th to 63rd.
