During this volunteer week, the Namwon District Council of the Korean Red Cross Volunteer Association (Bandalgom Red Cross Volunteer Association) visited vulnerable households in the area and delivered necessary supplies.

Starting with care activities such as checking living environments and providing companionship, they carried out housing environment improvement activities for vulnerable households suffering from hoarding disorder together with Namwon Lions Club, Women’s Geumdong Autonomous Crime Prevention Unit, Geumdong Smile Volunteer Group, Humansia Autonomous Association, and Namwon City Social Welfare Council.

In particular, on the 12th, Yoon Yong-han, head of the Geumdong Administrative Welfare Center, and staff also participated in the activities alongside volunteers, working hard.

At Chukcheon in Hyanggyo-dong and the Manin’s Tomb area, youths from Namwon Middle School’s Dubitnarae Club conducted environmental cleanup volunteer activities (plogging) under the theme “Zero Waste, The Earth I Create and Nurture.”

The Namwon Volunteer Fire Brigade Federation (Namwon City Male and Female Volunteer Fire Brigades) carried out a comprehensive inspection of fire hydrants in the area for fire prevention, night patrols of traditional markets, special disinfection activities at Namwon Station, intercity and express bus terminals, and campaigns to prevent the re-spread of COVID-19.

Gwak Ju-young, head of the Administrative Support Division, said, “Despite the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic making these times difficult for everyone, I would like to once again express my deep gratitude for the hard work of volunteers who always care for and look after their neighbors,” and added, “I hope this Lunar New Year holiday will be safe.”
