[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Hyundai Engineering announced on the 18th that it has maintained its family-friendly company certification for 10 consecutive years.
The family-friendly certification is a system that grants certification to companies that operate family-friendly programs exemplary through an evaluation process. Since first obtaining the certification in 2014, Hyundai Engineering has passed the certification three times, including the recent re-certification, maintaining recognition for 10 consecutive years.
In the recent re-certification process, the company received high evaluations for programs such as reduced working hours and leave for family care, operation of workplace daycare centers, and provision of family vacation facilities.
In particular, since June last year, Hyundai Engineering has been operating a selective working hours system. This system allows employees to decide their own commuting times freely and flexibly while adhering to an average of 40 hours per week on a monthly basis. Additionally, the company operates programs such as family health checkups, tuition support for children, group accident insurance, and welfare point payments.
A Hyundai Engineering representative stated, "When employees can maintain a balanced life between work and family, we expect their work efficiency to improve as well," adding, "We plan to continue introducing various programs to enhance work-life balance in the future."
