Enjoy 'Disney+' on KT Skylife Too

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] KT Skylife announced on the 18th that it has strengthened its lineup of online video services (OTT) by launching ‘Disney+’.

The Disney+ service is first provided to customers with the latest Android set-top box (Android 4th generation) and will be gradually expanded to all Android set-top box customers within one month.

The newly launched Disney+ consists of a standalone plan and a bundled plan called ‘sky DisneyPlus,’ which allows users to watch Disney+ together with Skylife’s live TV service. The standalone plan costs KRW 9,900 per month (including VAT, no contract), and the bundled plan ‘sky DisneyPlus’ costs KRW 19,800 per month (including VAT, 3-year contract), allowing viewers to watch Disney+ along with 239 live channels. It is the most affordable Disney+ TV standalone bundled plan available on Skylife in Korea.

The Disney+ subscription fee is billed together with the Skylife usage fee. Once logged in through the set-top box after subscription, the login remains on the set-top box until a different ID is used, providing convenience. Additionally, the new Android set-top box remote control features a ‘hotkey’ button for direct access to Disney+, enhancing user convenience.

Subscription is also simple. The Disney+ standalone plan can be subscribed to via the remote control on the TV, while the ‘sky DisneyPlus’ bundled plan can be subscribed to on the Skylife website. Both plans can also be subscribed to by contacting customer service.

To commemorate the launch, Skylife is offering various benefits. All customers who newly subscribe or add the ‘sky DisneyPlus’ plan will receive a 100% complimentary Disney merchandise item, the ‘Alice Teapot Set,’ and customers subscribing to the standalone plan will receive a one-month benefit.

Jung Hoon, Head of Marketing Services at Skylife, said, “Following YouTube and Netflix, with the launch of Disney+, Skylife customers can now enjoy all popular overseas OTT services on their TV,” adding, “We will continue to provide a rich variety of OTT content that customers want and improve usability to ensure a seamless experience.”
