Boseong-gun Encourages and Visits Social Welfare Facilities for Seollal Holiday

Delivery of Consolation Money and Goods to 1,600 Vulnerable Households

[Boseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Cheon-seok] Jeollanam-do Boseong-gun announced that it began visiting social welfare facilities in the area from the 16th in preparation for the Lunar New Year, a major national holiday.


On the 16th, Kim Cheol-woo, the governor of Boseong-gun, started his visits with 'Boseong Somang Nursing Home' and then visited 'Boseong-gun Disabled Living Center' and 'Bright Hill'. On the 17th, he visited the Beolgyo-eup area and delivered consolation items such as toilet paper and laundry detergent.


Governor Kim met with facility officials and asked them to care for the residents with warm love as if they were their own family, and took time to offer words of comfort and encouragement.

Since early January, Boseong-gun has delivered Lunar New Year consolation money and goods to 1,600 vulnerable households through visits. Donations from local companies and organizations continue to pour in.


The NongHyup Central Association Boseong Branch (Branch Manager Seon Ji-young) donated 80 boxes of agricultural product kits (worth 4.8 million KRW), the Korea Pork Producers Association Boseong Branch (Branch Manager Park Cheol-hyung) donated 265 boxes of pork (worth 5.3 million KRW), and the Korean Red Cross Jeonnam Branch (Secretary General Kim Dong-soo) donated 200 boxes of local specialty kits (worth 6 million KRW). The donated items were additionally distributed to 545 marginalized households.


Kim Cheol-woo, governor of Boseong-gun, said, "I hope this brings some comfort to the marginalized groups who need more attention and love during the Lunar New Year holiday." He added, "I hope that through continuous care and concern for neighbors, all residents will have a happy Lunar New Year."
