[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Cybersecurity company Genieons announced on the 18th that it has become the second largest shareholder of integrated cloud service provider Clion. It will invest 3 billion KRW to acquire 27.23% of Clion's shares.
Clion leverages its cloud expertise to support clients' digital transformation. Established in 2021, it has become a service partner of Naver Cloud, NHN Cloud, and AWS, and obtained Kubernetes Service Provider certification (KCSP).
It has proven its capabilities by participating in the design and construction of administrative and public cloud migration projects. It possesses outstanding cloud migration project capabilities including large-scale MSP business win-back, cloud native transformation, and startup customer acquisition.
Through investment and business partnerships, it strengthens its cloud service business capabilities and develops cloud solutions.
Genieons expects that combining Clion’s capabilities, which have participated in numerous cloud design and migration operation projects, will provide new value to clients. Through strategic alliances, it aims to secure cloud component technology and service capabilities to prepare for the cloud era and enhance cloud native security competitiveness.
Lee Dongbeom, CEO of Genieons, said, "Combining the core competencies of Clion, which has competitiveness in public cloud design and migration operations, with Genieons will provide new value to customers." He added, "Genieons will focus all efforts on securing next-generation growth engines through investment and collaboration in the cloud service sector."
