IBK Industrial Bank Mid-Year Regular Personnel Changes... New Deputy CEOs Kim Intae and Kim Unyoung

Kim Seong-tae's First Personnel Appointment

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] IBK Industrial Bank of Korea announced on the 17th that it has carried out its regular personnel reshuffle for the first half of 2023. In this reshuffle, the first since the inauguration of the new president Kim Sung-tae, a total of 2,252 employees were promoted or transferred, including two new executive vice presidents.

First, the new executive vice presidents appointed were Kim In-tae, Head of the Innovation Finance Group, and Kim Un-young, Head of the Financial Consumer Protection Group. Executive Vice President Kim In-tae was appointed as Head of the Innovation Finance Group after serving as the regional head of Banwol-Sihwa and Guro-Gasan, where he was recognized for his support of small and medium-sized enterprises during the COVID-19 pandemic and his crisis management capabilities. Executive Vice President Kim Un-young, who previously served as the Head of the Inspection Headquarters, has extensive experience in internal control and was highly evaluated for his deep understanding of financial consumer protection.


Additionally, four branch managers who demonstrated outstanding performance in the field were promoted to head of headquarters. Yoon Dong-hee, Manager of the Trade Center Branch, was appointed as Head of the Gangseo-Jeju Regional Headquarters; Kwak In-sik, Manager of the Banwol Mid-sized Enterprise Center, as Head of the Central Regional Headquarters; Cho Min-hee, Manager of the Hwaseong Balan Branch, as Head of the Gyeongseo Regional Headquarters; and Kim Won-seop, Manager of the Guro Central Branch, as Head of the China Limited Corporation.


Furthermore, six department heads at headquarters were promoted to head of headquarters positions. Baek Chang-yeol, Chief Secretary, was appointed Head of the Southern Regional Headquarters; Hong Seok-pyo, Head of the Financial Consumer Protection Department, as Head of the Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters; Park Il-gyu, Head of Management, as Head of the Human Resources Headquarters; Park Tae-sang, Head of Digital Planning, as Head of the Economic and Management Research Office; Yoon Seok-yeon, Head of the Custody Department, as Chief Information Security Officer; and Jung Sung-jin, Head of the Economic and Management Research Office, as Head of the Inspection Headquarters.


IBK stated, "We appointed newly promoted heads of headquarters who have proven their performance and capabilities in the field as regional headquarters heads to maintain field-centered business continuity. We also boldly assigned newly promoted heads of headquarters from headquarters departments to new areas to enhance synergy within the bank through change and innovation." They added, "Moreover, other promotions were conducted with a focus on field-centered personnel management, such as expanding the promotion of employees who have quietly fulfilled their duties in industrial complex areas, which is characteristic of IBK, and promoting employees responsible for personal finance to strive for balanced growth in both personal and corporate finance sectors."
