Ceramic Artist Hangapsu's 'Gieoknamu' Planned Invitational Exhibition

Exhibition of Over 30 Works Enhancing Conversational Techniques and Sculptural Depth

Artist Han Gap-su has diversely attempted humorous transformations of ceramic art through series such as hedgehogs, dokkaebi, and jangseung.

This exhibition is the first public display of "Memory Tree," which he has been focusing on for several years, and will showcase about 30 works that add sculptural depth through painterly techniques.

The "thorns" of the "Memory Tree," which is the theme of the works, reflect the artist's arduous times and memories.

It is a place to recall, reunite, and reconcile all the memories that have passed by to complete a single tree, making this exhibition especially meaningful to the artist.

The "Memory Tree," which does not have a single butterfly or flower beside it, is a silent yet dignified figure of a seeker and resembles the image of a ceramic artist walking the "thorny path."

Ceramic artist Han Gap-su stated in his artist note, "A single tree is a life. Today's life is constantly adjusted and transformed by past memories and the days to come. The 'Memory Tree' is something that is reborn countless times in this way," and added, "I hope the exhibition space becomes a forest where each person encounters their own special memories."
