[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jeong Young-gwon] The Environmental Business Office of Namwon City, Jeonbuk (Director Hwang Do-yeon) announced on the 17th that it will conduct a comprehensive safety inspection of public sewage treatment facilities in preparation for the Lunar New Year holiday until the 20th.
The city formed three specialized inspection teams consisting of 12 members divided into three groups to conduct special inspections of three operating public sewage treatment facilities, 62 small-scale sewage treatment facilities in towns, townships, and neighborhoods, and 78 relay pumping stations.
Through pre-inspections of various equipment, immediate measures will be taken for facilities requiring repairs to ensure there are no issues in sewage treatment operations. Additionally, a 24-hour emergency contact network system will be established to operate an emergency response team and prepare for emergency incidents.
A city official stated, “During the Lunar New Year holiday period, we will organize a comprehensive situation team and on-site work teams to strengthen frequent inspections and do our best to minimize inconvenience to citizens during the holiday by ensuring stable sewage treatment through immediate response and action in case of emergencies.”
