Suseong Salbasion's COVID-19 Preventive 'Kobixil' Featured on Major Chilean Broadcaster

[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Suseong Salbasion announced on the 17th that the COVID-19 preventive agent Kobixil was featured on Chile's major broadcasting station Chilevision (CHV).

CHV held a 25% viewer share in Chile as of 2020 and was acquired in 2021 by the major U.S. comprehensive media company ViacomCBS.

Kobixil is a nasal spray that forms a physical protective barrier inside the nasal cavity with just 2 to 3 sprays per day, fundamentally blocking the virus from entering the human body. It is the world's first product to simultaneously satisfy preventive efficacy against both the common cold and COVID-19, and has been verified to neutralize over 99% of various respiratory viruses including influenza.

Kobixil was developed with research and development support from the U.S. National Cancer Institute (NCI) and has been officially introduced through platforms such as Nature and the World Health Organization (WHO)'s global open access platform. Suseong Salbasion is responsible for supplying goods domestically, as well as in Japan and China, through a dealership contract with Salbasion.

Recently, Kobixil has been sold across the United States through large-scale supply in China as well as Walmart's online and offline stores. According to the company, it has shown a temporary shortage phenomenon by ranking as a bestseller on Walmart's online shopping mall and number one in a new category on Amazon, demonstrating strong global sales performance.

A company official stated, "Currently, Kobixil is actively sold through pharmacies in Latin America and the United Kingdom."

He added, "Compared to Western developed countries, Latin America and Eastern Europe, where healthcare environments are relatively poor, had particularly high death rates per one million population as of last year. We expect an increase in demand for Kobixil, which serves as a preventive agent."
