Yeongyang-gun has equipped this fine dust safety shelter with convenience facilities such as air purifiers that reduce automobile exhaust and various harmful substances including fine dust, as well as cooling and heating devices to block cold waves and heat waves, so that residents can rest safely in the shelter on days with severe fine dust.
The fine dust safety shelter (bus stop) can be used not only for protection against fine dust but also as a heatwave shelter in summer and a cold wave shelter in winter, allowing residents to use it throughout all four seasons.
Mayor O Do-chang said, “I hope the fine dust safety shelter will become more than just a waiting area, but a resting space where residents can take a break from fine dust, heatwaves, and cold waves,” and added, “We will continue to promote projects to reduce fine dust and do our best to create a pleasant living environment.”
