[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Naver Cloud is expanding its cloud ecosystem in the Southeast Asian region.
On the 17th, Naver Cloud announced that it has signed a strategic partnership with Singaporean telecom company 'StarHub.' Through this agreement, both companies plan to combine cloud services and telecommunications technology to drive digital transformation in the telecommunications sector across Southeast Asia.
Additionally, the two companies have established a cloud management service (MSP) partnership, integrating cloud technology into various business areas, starting in Southeast Asia, to build a cooperative system aimed at strengthening global competitiveness. They plan to provide edge cloud computing-based 5G network services and jointly develop ultra-low latency cloud services as part of StarHub's ‘Cloud Infinity Program.’
Naver Cloud will apply its experience and technology from building a private 5G network at Naver’s new headquarters ‘1784’ to Singapore’s public 5G network. Cloud-based telecommunications technology is one of the essential foundations for digital innovation in telecom companies, enabling them to respond quickly to changes and manage resources efficiently by leveraging the cloud.
Naver Cloud has formed an MSP partnership with StarHub to support StarHub in establishing its position as a cloud MSP provider by offering technical expertise and resources to StarHub’s partners. Together with StarHub, Naver Cloud will promote a GTM (Go-To-Market) strategy in the Southeast Asian region and introduce solutions specialized for the telecommunications industry.
Meanwhile, StarHub is a Singaporean telecommunications company that has provided telecommunications, entertainment, and content services to general and corporate customers in Southeast Asia for over 20 years.
StarHub CEO Nikhil Eapen said, “We are driving cloud transformation to provide our customers with a safer cloud-based platform. Through the ‘Cloud Infinity Program,’ we plan to focus on cloud-based digital platforms, lead innovation across various fields, and drive growth.”
Park Won-gi, Head of APAC Business Development at Naver Cloud, said, “It is meaningful that the technology and know-how of StarHub, which is actively pursuing cloud and digital platform transformation, and Naver Cloud, a leading domestic cloud service provider, have combined to present various solutions. We will continue active service development and cooperation to secure global competitiveness beyond Southeast Asia.”
