[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] The Pohang City Youth Foundation Youth Sexual Culture Center's special program operated during the winter vacation concluded with great enthusiasm from students.

The program, held at the Youth Sexual Culture Center Experience Hall, was conducted on January 7 and 14 for about 50 fifth and sixth grade elementary school students in the Pohang area.

Pohang Youth Sexual Culture Center is giving a welcome greeting to the adolescents participating in the "Celebrating Adolescence" program.

This winter vacation special program, "Celebrate Puberty," was conducted under various themes to help students accept secondary sexual characteristics not as something embarrassing but as a natural phenomenon, and to learn concretely about physical and emotional changes before experiencing secondary sexual characteristics.

It was conducted in a group activity format rather than a lecture-style education, gaining positive responses. Through seven programs such as an escape room game (concept of sex) and a pledge activity for healthy growth, participants learned accurate information about puberty, shared stories about bodily changes and emotional diversity, and the program was operated in a party-style educational format to help participants positively accept their growth.

A student who participated in the program said, "I liked talking about my feelings with my friends," and added, "The education was enjoyable, and I felt celebrated."

Yoon Youngran, CEO of the Pohang City Youth Foundation, said, "We operated a unique sex education program to establish correct sexual awareness for elementary school students in puberty during the winter vacation," and added, "We will continue to provide various specialized sex education programs to support youth in receiving high-quality sex education."
