SK Bioscience "Novavax COVID Vaccine Approved for Booster Shot"

[Asia Economy Reporter Byun Seon-jin] SK Bioscience announced on the 16th that it has received approval to use the Novavax COVID-19 vaccine 'NVX-CoV2373', which it manufactures under contract, as a booster shot.

Last October, the company applied to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to change the product approval to allow this vaccine to be used as a booster shot.

Novavax has stated that in a Phase 3 clinical trial where this vaccine was administered as an additional dose to adults who had completed the primary vaccination series, the amount of neutralizing antibodies increased by 27 to 34 times compared to before. Neutralizing antibodies are antibodies that neutralize and defend the body against worsening when the virus invades the body.

SK Bioscience plans to use this product as an additional dose in the future.
