Gyeongnam Province Improves Operational System Including Merger and Abolition of Similar Organizations
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Gyeongsangnam-do has reorganized the Gyeongnam Technopark (TP) organization.
Gyeongsangnam-do announced on the 16th that it has carried out organizational restructuring and personnel changes in line with the direction of the 8th term of the provincial government.
According to the province, this organizational restructuring was based on the results of the Gyeongnam TP organizational diagnosis and management strategy research project conducted over five months starting in March last year under the province's supervision.
The goal was to strengthen the new government's national agenda and the province's key development sectors, consolidate or abolish similar organizations, minimize vertical structures, and transform into a field-centered, practical organization.
The province reduced the existing Gyeongnam TP organization from 2 divisions, 9 centers, 2 offices, 1 affiliated unit, and 39 teams to 2 divisions, 7 headquarters, 2 offices, 1 affiliated unit, and 34 teams, cutting more than 7 teams.
They newly established the Defense Industry Headquarters and Defense Industry Team, which are key sectors of the new government's national agenda and the province's focus, and expanded and reorganized the Nuclear Power Industry Team and Hydrogen Industry Team in the energy industry sector.
Through identifying core duties and job analysis, the existing staff quota of 200 was reduced to 190, and work was streamlined and redistributed focusing on the scale and allocation of personnel.
Roh Choongsik, Director of Gyeongnam TP, said, “We will do our best to improve inefficient elements through organizational restructuring to contribute to the development of local industries and the revitalization of the regional economy.”
Ryu Myunghyun, Director of the Provincial Industry and Trade Bureau, said, “Gyeongnam TP is strengthening its role as a hub institution performing comprehensive functions for regional industrial development. We expect that this restructuring will enable us to join forces with the province as a key institution for the development of the regional economy and a new leap forward for Gyeongnam.”
