Pukyong National University Receives Top Rating for Campus Asia Korea-Japan-China Expansion Project

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Pukyong National University recently received the highest grade, "Comprehensive A," in the 2022 Campus Asia Korea-Japan-China Expansion Project annual evaluation.

The project is a student exchange program in higher education by the Ministry of Education and the Korean Council for University Education, aimed at promoting mutual understanding and activating exchanges between universities through joint and double degree programs among universities in Korea, Japan, and China.

Pukyong National University operates this project as the lead of the CAMPUS-Asia Korea-Japan-China Expansion Project AFIMA Consortium, focusing on the major of Marine Fisheries Management, striving to strengthen intergovernmental cooperation for the joint management of East Asian marine fisheries resources and marine environment, and to cultivate future professional talents.

In particular, the consortium was recognized for excellent achievements such as establishing a smooth communication system with participating universities in Korea, Japan, and China, and student exchanges utilizing various platforms including the online summer school (International Joint Seasonal Semester).

With this project, Pukyong National University, which has been receiving 600 million KRW in project funds from 2021 to 2026, will receive additional project funds as incentives based on the results of this annual evaluation.

Accordingly, Pukyong National University plans to actively engage in academic exchanges with Nagasaki University in Japan and China Ocean University in China, and to expand cooperation with Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.
