Embassy of Nepal in Korea: "Two Koreans Presumed on Crashed Aircraft"

[Asia Economy Reporter Jeong Dong-hoon] The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Nepal announced that it appears two Koreans were on board the passenger plane that crashed in Nepal on the 15th (local time).

An embassy official stated, "There are two Koreans on the passenger list of the aircraft, but the exact boarding status and identities are still being confirmed."

According to foreign media, the Nepalese Yeti Airlines 'ATR72' that took off from Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, crashed near Pokhara Airport, its destination, on the morning of the same day.

The passenger plane was carrying 72 people, including 68 passengers and 4 crew members. It is known that about 10 foreigners, including Koreans, Chinese, Australians, and Russians, were on board.

Nepalese authorities are conducting rescue operations using helicopters and other means, and more than 40 bodies have been recovered at the accident site.
