"No Need for Politicians Who Just Want to Become Stars"
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] Jang Je-won, a member of the People Power Party, criticized former lawmaker Na Kyung-won, who is considering running for party leader, saying she should not become the 'second Yoo Seung-min.'
On the 15th, Jang said on Facebook, "I have no intention of becoming the 'second Jinbak inspector,' so I hope former lawmaker Na will not become the 'second Yoo Seung-min' either."
Earlier that day, former lawmaker Na targeted criticism from the 'pro-Yoon faction (pro-Yoon Seok-yeol faction)' regarding her party convention candidacy on Facebook, saying, "Can a party manipulated by the second 'Jinbak inspector' really win the general election and protect the Yoon Seok-yeol administration?"
In response, Jang quoted philosopher Machiavelli, who said, "It is rare that personal desires do not harm the interests of the whole," and pointed out, "There is no place for personal desires before a just cause," adding, "Whether the team called the Republic of Korea wins or loses, whether President Yoon Seok-yeol can work properly or not, we do not need politicians who think, 'I must become the party leader and score a goal,' or 'I must become a star.'"
He said, "I agree with one part of former lawmaker Na's claim," adding, "It is the concern about the nomination turmoil."
He continued, "Every time our party failed in the general election, it was a crushing defeat due to nomination turmoil. I myself was the biggest victim of the nomination turmoil," emphasizing, "We must never repeat our party's failure."
He then said, "The only leader of our party now is President Yoon," and added, "We must solely help President Yoon to be able to work."
