Why Did Yuseonghun, Geumcheon-gu Mayor, Hold an On-Site Work Report Meeting?

District Mayor Yuseonghun, nicknamed the 'Alleyway Mayor,' visits key project sites to check progress, analyze issues, and derive solutions

Mayor Yu stated, "We will receive policy reports from the field frequently to ensure rational and swift district administration."

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yuseonghun) is holding the '2023 Field-Centered Work Report Meeting' in two phases until January 18.

This report meeting is conducted at major key project sites according to the will of Mayor Yuseonghun, nicknamed the 'Alleyway Mayor.'

The first report meeting held on January 12 took place at sites including the Anyangcheon Fine Dust Reduction Forest ▲ Dosan-ro Underpass Construction ▲ Geumcheon Musical Center Operation ▲ 50 Plus Center Operation ▲ Geumcheon Career and Academic Support Center Construction.

First, the achievements of the 'Anyangcheon Fine Dust Reduction Forest,' steadily promoted since the 7th local government term, were reviewed. Through on-site reports, time was spent discussing policy measures at the autonomous district level to protect residents sensitive to health such as the elderly and visitors to Anyangcheon.

At the 50 Plus Center site, discussions were held to establish a 'sustainable senior-friendly system' in response to the ultra-aged society. The Geumcheon 50 Plus Center will newly promote the 'Cheer Up! Flower Middle-aged Project' this year. It aims to support middle-aged social networks, create jobs based on the 4th industrial revolution, and discover suitable work activity models for middle-aged people, thereby providing a foundation for retired middle-aged individuals to re-enter society. Mayor Yuseonghun urged that various programs be offered to meet residents' needs.

On-site reports on educational and cultural facilities were also conducted to transform the district into an education and cultural city. At the 'Geumcheon Career and Academic Support Center New Building' site (Doksan 3-dong), future operational plans were discussed, and at the 'Geumcheon Musical Center' (Doksan 1-dong), the district's first musical-specialized educational institution, plans to revitalize culture and arts were reviewed.

Additionally, the long-awaited projects driving regional economic development in G-Valley (Seoul Digital Industrial Complex) were addressed. Progress was reported at the Dosan-ro Underpass construction site connecting Digital Complex 3 to Dosan-gil. The Kyohaksa building located on the construction site is scheduled to be demolished by March.

Work reports from district-affiliated organizations, Geumcheon-gu Facilities Management Corporation and Geumcheon Cultural Foundation, will also be held on-site. On January 17, a report on the operation of the Geumcheon Cultural Foundation will be held at Mancheonmyeongwol Artist Community Space, and on January 18, a report on the operation of the Geumcheon-gu Facilities Management Corporation will be conducted at Geumnarae Culture and Sports Center.

Mayor Yuseonghun of Geumcheon-gu emphasized, "The key to policies is always in the field, not at the desk," and stated, "I will carefully oversee to ensure that district administration is carried out rationally and swiftly by frequently receiving policy reports from the field."
