[Asia Economy Reporter Byun Seon-jin] The Central Disease Control Headquarters announced on the 13th at midnight that 39,726 new COVID-19 cases were added, bringing the total to 29,737,759.


The number of new cases decreased by 4,227 compared to the previous day (43,953). It also decreased by 17,228 compared to a week ago on the 6th (56,954). The number of COVID-19 cases has been declining for three consecutive weeks based on Friday's data.


Among the new cases, 137 were imported cases, an increase of 2 from the previous day (135).


The number of critically ill patients currently hospitalized is 511, one more than the previous day. The number of critically ill patients has remained in the 500s for nine consecutive days.


There were 51 new COVID-19 related deaths reported. The cumulative death toll stands at 32,872, with a fatality rate of 0.11%.


As of midnight, the additional vaccination rate is 33.7% for those aged 60 and over, and 60.5% for infection-vulnerable facilities.
