[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] The US Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November rose the least since the end of 2021.
On the 12th (local time), the US Department of Labor announced that the December CPI increased by 6.5% compared to the same month last year. This is the smallest increase since November 2021 (6.2%). It matches the expert forecasts compiled by Bloomberg News.
Compared to the previous month, it fell by 0.1%, falling short of the market expectation of 0.0%.
The core Consumer Price Index, excluding the volatile energy and food sectors, rose 5.7% year-on-year and 0.3% month-on-month, respectively.
