[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Jae-hee] Former lawmaker Na Kyung-won, who has expressed her intention to resign from the position of Vice Chairperson of the Low Birthrate and Aging Society Committee, will submit her resignation letter in writing on the 13th.

It is reported that former lawmaker Na stated, "To clearly express my intention to resign as Vice Chairperson of the Low Birthrate Committee, I have decided to submit a written resignation letter by hand tomorrow morning."

However, she said, "Former lawmaker Na has no intention of opposing President Yoon Suk-yeol in any form," and added, "Some aides in the presidential office are acting as if they are trying to influence the party convention without properly conveying each other's intentions."

On the 10th, former lawmaker Na expressed her intention to resign via text messages and other means to key aides of the presidential office, including Chief Secretary Kim Dae-gi. However, President Yoon has not responded for three days.

The presidential office reportedly explained that since former lawmaker Na has not submitted a physical resignation letter, they cannot decide whether to 'reject' or 'accept' it.

In political circles, there is an interpretation that the move is intended to prevent former lawmaker Na, who has emerged as the biggest variable in the People Power Party leadership election, from running.

Whether the resignation letter is 'accepted' or 'rejected,' it is interpreted as a message urging President Yoon to promptly settle her status.
