Yeongyang County, which held a special exhibition of excellent agricultural and specialty products for the Lunar New Year at the Seoul Yeongyanghaksa.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk, will hold a special sales event for Yeongyang-gun's excellent agricultural and specialty products for the Lunar New Year from the 12th to the 14th at Yeongyang Haksa located in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul.
Yeongyang Haksa is located in Seokgwan-dong, Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, and is a four-story residential convenience building built in 2006 for dormitory use by university students from Yeongyang studying in the metropolitan area.
The direct sales store inside the Haksa was newly renovated in 2018 to target metropolitan area consumers.
The special exhibition, which started its first event in 2019 but is resuming after about three years due to the impact of COVID-19, aims to sell Yeongyang-gun's excellent agricultural and specialty products to metropolitan consumers ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday, with a particular focus on pre-promoting the Yeongyang Chili H.O.T Festival, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
This Lunar New Year special exhibition features over 40 items including the world’s best quality 'Bikkalchan' red pepper powder, fruits, honey, specialty liquors, dried vegetables, mushrooms, and more, filled with sincerity to enrich holiday preparations with Yeongyang’s agricultural spirit. Considering the recent economic downturn, products will be offered at more affordable prices to attract metropolitan consumers.
County Governor Oh Do-chang said, “The direct sales store inside Yeongyang Haksa will serve as a foothold for targeting metropolitan consumers with Yeongyang’s agricultural and specialty products. Through outreach marketing, we will contribute to increasing the income of local farmers and actively implement distribution policies so that farmers can focus on producing high-quality agricultural specialty products.” He added, “We plan to prepare expansion measures such as regular markets to continuously promote Yeongyang-gun’s excellent agricultural and specialty products to metropolitan consumers in the future.”
