Changwon Christian Association Donates Love Rice to Seongsan and Uichang Districts of Changwon Special City

The Changwon Christian Association donated 1,000 bags of 10kg rice to Changwon Special City, requesting that it be distributed to low-income families in celebration of the Lunar New Year.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 11th at 11 a.m. in the city hall reception room that the Changwon Christian Association donated 1,000 bags of 10kg rice (equivalent value 23 million KRW) as love rice to be delivered to low-income families for the Lunar New Year.

The Changwon Christian Association has been donating 1,000 bags of rice every year since 2015 for low-income families in the Changwon area.

Choi Jeong-gu, president of the Christian Association, said, “We donated love rice for neighbors in the region who are struggling due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and the cold winter cold wave,” and added, “We hope this helps neighbors have a joyful Lunar New Year holiday.”

Hong Nam-pyo, mayor of Changwon Special City, said, “The beautiful sharing practiced in various parts of the local community ahead of the Lunar New Year gives strength and courage to citizens in need. I hope citizens have a warm Lunar New Year holiday where they can feel the warmth of their neighbors.”
