Yoon Geon-young: "The Divided People Power Party Seems 'Envious' Watching Lee Jae-myung's Prosecution Summons"

Lee Jae-myung's Prosecution Summons Sees Large Participation from Democratic Party Lawmakers
"President and Ruling Party Have Developed Strange Habit of Denying First When Wrong"

[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] On the 11th, Yoon Geon-young, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, referred to the criticism from the People Power Party regarding the large number of Democratic Party lawmakers accompanying Lee Jae-myung during his summons by the prosecution as "seemingly envious."

Yoon appeared on SBS Radio's 'Kim Tae-hyun's Political Show' that day and said, "The People Power Party seems to be in internal conflict due to the party representative election, but the Democratic Party does not show such a scene," adding, "It seems the People Power Party is somewhat envious."

Regarding the approximately 40 Democratic Party lawmakers who saw off Lee Jae-myung during his prosecution summons, he explained, "I think this is not a matter with a correct answer but a matter of choice," and said, "If Lee appears alone, it can give the image of standing alone against the prosecution's behavior, and when the party leadership accompanies him as they did yesterday, it can give the impression that the party is protecting Lee at the party level and that we are together."

Yoon also addressed the allegations related to Seongnam FC against Lee, saying, "The prosecution had already decided not to indict and found no charges, so isn't this a case that was brought up again?" He criticized, "If the prosecution is to do that, there must be at least fairness and justice. In Lee's case, there were over 200 searches conducted, but Kim Geon-hee, the First Lady, has never been searched even once."

Regarding the intrusion of a North Korean drone and the Democratic Party raising the issue of violating the no-fly zone, Yoon criticized the People Power Party's claim of collusion, saying, "President Yoon Seok-yeol and the People Power Party have recently developed a strange habit of denying wrongdoing outright."

Yoon said, "Even in the U.S., they insist on calling 'Biden' as 'Nal-li-myeon,' and now they seem to be claiming collusion with the North as well," adding, "Just by overlapping the flight path provided by the military with Google Maps, it is clear that the no-fly zone was violated as you mentioned." Regarding the accusation of collusion against Democratic Party lawmaker Kim Byung-joo, who raised the related issue, he said, "Lawmaker Kim served in the military for 39 years," and criticized, "Is it reasonable to say that a four-star general of the Republic of Korea colluded with North Korea? No matter how much political manipulation it is, I think it has crossed the line."
