Illegal Activities in Suhyup Cooperative President Election? Sacheon Coast Guard Strictly Watches

Illegal Activities in Suhyup Cooperative President Election? Sacheon Coast Guard Strictly Watches Gyeongnam Sacheon Maritime Police Station.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] The Sacheon Maritime Police Station in Gyeongnam will conduct a special crackdown to prevent and eradicate illegal activities ahead of the 3rd nationwide simultaneous cooperative association head election to be held on March 8.

According to Sacheon Maritime Police, elections will be held to elect cooperative association heads for five districts within the jurisdiction.

Sacheon Maritime Police announced on the 9th that they expect an increase in illegal election crimes in this cooperative association head election and will carry out crackdowns until March 17.

They plan to form a dedicated investigation team and focus on ▲‘money elections’ involving candidates or voters providing money or entertainment ▲‘false elections’ such as spreading false information and defaming candidates ▲‘illegal election interference’ using the status of cooperative executives and employees.

From the 9th to the 27th, they also plan to strengthen criminal activities, anticipating an increase in illegal fishing taking advantage of the increased demand for seafood during the Lunar New Year holiday and crimes infringing on people's livelihoods such as theft due to the economic downturn.

A Sacheon Maritime Police official said, “We will thoroughly enforce crackdowns in cooperation with related organizations to establish a clean and fair election atmosphere,” and added, “If you witness or become aware of any crimes, please actively report or notify us.”
