Jung Jin-seok: "Democratic Party, Enemy Beyond the Demilitarized Zone... Not the Time to Attack the President"

Revealed on the morning of the 8th via personal Facebook
"National security system must be promptly reorganized"

[Asia Economy Reporter Geum Bo-ryeong] Jeong Jin-seok, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, pointed out that "the enemy threatening the security of the Republic of Korea is beyond the Demilitarized Zone" in response to the Democratic Party attacking the Yoon Seok-yeol administration over North Korea's drone infiltration incident.

On the morning of the 8th, Chairman Jeong stated on Facebook, "This is not the time for the opposition party to rush to make the president and government yield over the flight paths of a few North Korean reconnaissance drones."

He continued, "The Democratic Party's reaction, which pushed the security of the Republic of Korea to the brink, is truly ironic," and criticized, "They are rushing as if the national security has collapsed due to North Korea's drone provocations, seemingly intent on cutting off the military command and top military leadership."

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, called it a 'massive security disaster' and demanded an apology from President Yoon Seok-yeol, while spokesperson Kim Eui-gyeom urged, "The prosecution should immediately conduct a search and seizure of the Ministry of National Defense and the Presidential Office."

Chairman Jeong criticized, "It's truly shocking," adding, "Kim Jong-un sent five drones each less than 3 meters long, shaking our military command like this, making it a very cost-effective provocation."

He also emphasized, "Our military failed to properly track the flight paths of the five drones and attempted to shoot them down using attack helicopters but failed. This is an inexcusable operational failure," and stressed, "We must identify the problems and promptly reorganize the national security system."

Furthermore, Chairman Jeong said, "It is time to prepare countermeasures on how to respond when Kim Jong-un carries out local provocations with conventional weapons and demands a price while threatening nuclear attacks."
