Mokpo Coast Guard Urgently Transfers Immobile Emergency Patient

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Mokpo Coast Guard urgently transported an emergency patient from Anmado, Yeonggwang County, to the mainland.

According to the Mokpo Coast Guard on the 6th, at around 6:12 a.m. that day, a report was received that a resident A (female, in her 70s) in Anmado, Yeonggwang County, was unable to move.

The Coast Guard dispatched a patrol vessel and a coastal rescue boat from the substation to Anmado, boarded A and her guardian, continuously monitored the patient’s condition while heading to Jido Songdo Pier, and handed the patient over to the waiting 119 ambulance team.

The emergency patient transported with the help of the Coast Guard was moved to a hospital located in Yeonggwang County and is receiving treatment.

A Mokpo Coast Guard official said, “We always maintain a state of readiness for emergencies,” and added, “Mokpo Coast Guard will do its best to protect the lives of emergency patients occurring in island areas that are medical blind spots.”
