Agency: "BTS Jin Diligently Undergoing Basic Military Training"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Iseul] "Please refrain from sending letters, gifts, and other postal deliveries."
Big Hit Music has requested that fans refrain from sending postal deliveries to Jin (Kim Seokjin, 30), a member of the group BTS, who is currently undergoing military basic training.
On the 5th, BTS's agency Big Hit Music announced on the fan community platform Weverse, "Thanks to your warm consideration and support, BTS's Jin has enlisted and is diligently undergoing basic training," and added, "Additional cooperation is needed during his military service period."
The agency stated, "The basic training unit is a military training space shared by regular soldiers. If fans' letters and gifts are delivered all at once and in large quantities, it becomes difficult to store them and there is a risk of loss. Therefore, please refrain from sending letters, gifts, and other postal deliveries."
They continued, "When you want to send meaningful messages, please use hashtags within Weverse to leave your messages, and we will support so that Jin can directly check them."
They also asked fans not to attend the basic training completion ceremony. The agency said, "To prevent safety accidents due to crowding on-site, we ask fans to refrain from visiting the location," and added, "Please send your farewells and encouragement to Jin with your hearts only."
Jin, the eldest member of BTS, was born in 1992 and enlisted on December 13 last year at the 5th Division Basic Training Unit in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. He will undergo five weeks of basic training before being assigned to his unit. His scheduled discharge date is June 12, 2024.
