"Women Venture Policy Research and System Improvement" YeoBenHyup and SMBA to Collaborate

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bo-kyung] Policy research for fostering women-led venture companies is expected to become more active.

The Korea Women Venture Association and the Small and Medium Venture Business Research Institute signed a "Business Agreement for Fostering Women Venture Companies and Supporting Innovative Growth" on the 5th at the Hilton Garden Inn Hotel in Seocho-gu, Seoul.

The signing ceremony was attended by key officials including Kim Bun-hee, President of the Korea Women Venture Association, and Oh Dong-yoon, Director of the Small and Medium Venture Business Research Institute, along with other major stakeholders from both organizations.

This agreement was promoted based on a consensus that strategic fostering of women-led venture companies, which account for 10% of all venture companies, is necessary as the role of venture companies as a future national economic growth engine increases.

Going forward, the two organizations plan to establish a cooperative system to conduct surveys and research necessary for fostering women venture companies and supporting innovative growth, and to closely collaborate on creating an institutional foundation to revitalize women-led venture and startup companies.

The agreement includes mutual cooperation on ▲related surveys and research such as actual condition surveys of women venture companies ▲policy research and institutional improvements to revitalize women venture companies ▲sharing information and data related to women venture and startup companies ▲joint hosting of academic events.

Director Oh Dong-yoon said, "We will closely cooperate through policy research collaboration for fostering and innovating women venture companies so that technology- and knowledge-centered women entrepreneurship can be activated."

President Kim Bun-hee stated, "I hope that various research surveys for revitalizing women venture and startup companies will be conducted, and that a highly effective women venture company fostering strategy based on data will be established."
