Lee Young-woo, the representative who ran the mart together with his wife in Yeongyang-eup, deeply moved the local community after his wife, Son Kyung-ae, fell into a coma repeatedly due to a stroke last summer and became brain dead. In November, she decided to donate her organs, which were transplanted to five desperate patients.

At the donation ceremony, Representative Lee of Saecheonnyun Mart said, “In the uneasy atmosphere caused by COVID-19, we donated love ramen to help the underprivileged neighbors in the region who are going through especially difficult times. My wife, who always liked helping those in need, would be happy even in heaven,” expressing his thoughts.

County Governor Oh Do-chang said, “In these times when continued economic downturn calls for more attention to vulnerable groups, we are grateful for this precious donation. Despite the sudden sad news, the noble decision to share the most precious life for other sick people will be beautifully remembered in the local community.”

The donated love ramen will be distributed to underprivileged groups in the area in celebration of the Lunar New Year holiday.
