Measures Ordered to Protect the Lives of Workplace Workers and Gunmin
Gu In-mo, Governor of Geochang County, Gyeongnam, is holding a meeting to inspect the compliance with the obligations under the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 5th that it has completed the inspection of mandatory compliance with the Serious Accident Punishment Act in the second half of 2022.
This inspection, chaired by County Governor Goo In-mo, focused on securing the safety and health of affiliated workers, the response system in case of serious accident situations, hazardous and dangerous factors within workplaces, and 50 facilities subject to serious citizen accidents.
Through this inspection, the county shared identified deficiencies and improvement measures to advance as a leading city in industrial accident prevention, and confirmed the establishment and operation of a solid safety and health management system.
Governor Goo said, “Industrial safety is directly related to the lives of workers in our county’s workplaces, so we will strengthen on-site inspections to thoroughly prevent serious accidents,” and added, “We plan to systematically and diversely promote projects such as worker safety and health education, establishment of a continuous inspection system, and strengthening risk assessments through an autonomous prevention system.”
Since January last year, Geochang-gun has organized a dedicated team for serious accident prevention and established a safety and health management policy, operating a safety and health management system.
