Gangwon-do Launches Full-Scale Implementation of 'Kim Jin-tae's Half-Price Agricultural Materials Support' Governor Kim Jin-tae of Gangwon Province who participated in 'Helping Hands in Rural Areas' last September [Gangwon Province]

[Asia Economy Reporter Ra Young-cheol] Gangwon Province has officially launched the 'Half-Price Agricultural Materials Support Project.'

According to Gangwon Province on the 4th, this project is a policy aimed at alleviating the management burden on farmers due to the continuous surge in prices of various farming materials. The total project cost is 57.2 billion KRW, including 8.6 billion KRW from the provincial government.

Support is provided in six differentiated tiers based on actual cultivation, divided into rice paddies and fields. The subsidy rate is 50%, with rice paddies receiving a minimum of 50,000 KRW and a maximum of 300,000 KRW, and fields receiving a minimum of 150,000 KRW and a maximum of 900,000 KRW.

All farmers residing in the province can apply at their local eup, myeon, or dong office from the 10th of this month until the 10th of next month. A five-day rotation system is applied: those whose birth year ends in 1 or 6 can apply on Monday; 2 or 7 on Tuesday; 3 or 8 on Wednesday; 4 or 9 on Thursday; and 5 or 0 on Friday.

However, since municipalities may designate supported items or provide additional municipal funding, farmers need to check the eligible items and subsidy amounts with their local municipality or agricultural technology center.

The province plans to promote the project so that it stabilizes early and many farmers can benefit, as it is a campaign pledge of Governor Kim Jin-tae.

Kim Jin-hwi, Director of the Gangwon Provincial Agricultural Policy Bureau, said, "We will ensure that the 'Half-Price Agricultural Materials Support Project' provides practical help to farmers in the province who are struggling due to the sharp rise in farming material prices."
