Establishment of Smart Services Linked to Urban Regeneration Projects

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Sancheong-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 4th that it has been selected for the '2023 Living-Oriented Urban Regeneration Smart Technology Support' contest project.

This project, conducted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, is linked to the detailed functions of urban regeneration projects.

Sancheong-gun has already been selected for and is implementing an urban regeneration project, and plans to accelerate urban regeneration through this contest selection.

The selected living-oriented urban regeneration smart technology support project will establish smart services and improve local issues closely related to residents' lives, such as safety/firefighting, transportation, and living/welfare.

Through this, the plan is to enhance the effects of the urban regeneration project.

Accordingly, smart technology will be introduced into the ongoing urban regeneration project "Saving Our Neighborhood" (Sucheong and Sangbong districts), which has been underway since 2018.

Fire detection and emergency dispatch services will be established in 157 buildings (87% of the total) within the regeneration project area.

In addition, AI-based safety care services and safety smart pole services will be provided to 40 single elderly households, strengthening a dense safety and welfare network throughout the project area.

A county official said, "Smart technology is evolving and being utilized in various ways to create a safe local environment and improve residents' convenience," adding, "We plan to actively promote sustainable smart services that local residents can feel in connection with urban regeneration projects."

Sancheong-gun is currently creating house repairs, street maintenance, parking lots, and medicinal food culture platforms through the ongoing urban regeneration project "Saving Our Neighborhood" (Sucheong and Sangbong districts).
