'Three-Bureau Administrative Organization' System... Establishment of Strategy Officer and Healing Industry Officer
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has carried out the first organizational restructuring of the 8th elected administration to complete the "Greater Geochang Leap, Era of Citizen Happiness" and to implement open administration that gets one step closer to the citizens.
This organizational restructuring focused on establishing a strategic promotion system to secure the execution power of the core pledge projects of the 8th elected administration, especially discovering new industries that look ahead to Geochang-gun's future growth for the next 50 years, creating a sustainable future for Geochang.
From the existing two bureaus (Administrative Welfare Bureau, Economic Industry Bureau), a new bureau was established, reorganizing into three bureaus: Administrative Bureau, Economic Welfare Bureau, and Safety Construction Bureau, operating a responsible bureau chief system, reflecting the will to transform into an innovative administration that citizens empathize with and an organization that citizens can feel.
A Strategic Officer position was newly created to promote core pledge projects of the 8th elected administration such as the Geochang-type Medical Welfare Town, crematorium construction, discovery and fostering of healing industries, and response to the local extinction fund project, focusing on concretizing the blueprint of future Geochang-gun as a control tower function for future growth projects.
The existing Economic Transportation Division and Construction Division were changed to Economic Enterprise Division and Construction Transportation Division respectively, and the Future Strategy Division was abolished, consolidating and merging divisions with similar or overlapping tasks that reduce efficiency to improve organizational efficiency.
Division names were also changed to reflect changes in the administrative environment and to operate a dynamic organization: Public Relations Officer from Public Information Officer, Natural Disaster Officer from Recovery Support Officer, Major Accident Prevention Officer from Major Accident Prevention TF Team, Smart City Officer from Urban Regeneration Officer, Local Food Officer from Regional Food Officer, Byeolbaram Hill Operation TF Team from Gamaksan Operation TF Team, and Health Policy Officer from Health Administration Officer.
Additionally, in response to increasing administrative demands and the latest trends, a Forest Income Officer and Animal Welfare Officer were newly established, and a Rural Labor Officer was created to exclusively handle foreign seasonal workers, actively addressing rural labor shortages.
Governor Gu In-mo said, "This organizational restructuring was carried out to successfully promote the pledges promised to the citizens and the county's key projects in the 8th elected administration," and added, "We will focus the county government's capabilities to quickly respond to the diversifying administrative environment and become a reliable organization that meets the expectations of the citizens."
Geochang-gun plans to announce the "2023 First Half Regular Personnel Appointment" on the 5th, effective from the 9th, to carry out practical work through this organizational restructuring.
