Gukyang Logitec Selected as Preferred Negotiation Partner for West Side Back Area Tenant Companies
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] Yeosu Gwangyang Port Authority (President Park Seonghyun, YGPA) announced on the 3rd that Gukyang Logitec, a subsidiary of Janggeum Shipping, was selected as the preferred negotiator following the evaluation of companies participating in the occupancy of the strategic reserved site in the western hinterland of Gwangyang Port.
YGPA has been conducting attraction activities targeting large integrated logistics companies to create new cargo volume and increase port call services by attracting comprehensive logistics warehouses of global shipping companies.
This recruitment of tenant companies for the 130,000㎡ strategic reserved site in the western hinterland was targeted at the top global shipping companies by shipping capacity and their logistics subsidiaries.
Gukyang Logitec is a logistics company invested by the global shipping company Janggeum Shipping, with a total investment amount of 49 billion KRW.
Upon completion of occupancy, it is expected to generate an annual new export-import container cargo volume of 76,000 TEU from major inland industrial complexes, and the inflow of alliance transshipment cargo volume is also anticipated due to the acquisition of IMO Class 1 and 2 hazardous cargo handling facilities.
A YGPA official stated, “Thanks to the interest in Yeosu and Gwangyang Ports, we were able to successfully attract tenant companies,” and added, “We will contribute to building a self-sufficient, cargo-generating port and creating jobs through consultations with the selected preferred negotiator.”
