Forum at Daehangno Yesulcheong on the 12th... 'Korean Musical, Steps Toward Future Leap'

[Asia Economy Reporter Seomideum] The Forum Stage, a side event of the Korean Musical Awards, will be held on the 12th at 2 PM at Daehangno Arts Center.

Under the theme "Korean Musicals, Steps for Future Leap," the event will be divided into two sections.

The first section will proceed with the question, "Is there really criticism of the musical genre?" Musical critic Park Byung-sung will present on "The Current State of Korean Musical Criticism," and critic Choi Seung-yeon will present on "Requirements for Musical Criticism: A Study on the Direction of Korean Musical Criticism."

The second section will focus on the "Family Musical Market." The session will be moderated by Um Dong-yeol, director of the Korea Performing Arts Industry Research Institute. There will be three presentations: "Current Status of Children/Family Musicals in the Korean Performance Market" by Jung In-hye (Team Leader at the Arts Management Support Center), "Cases of Family Content in Major Overseas Awards" by Kim Il-song (CEO of Chaekgongjang Ian Jae), and "Viewing Status and Challenges for Securing Sustainable Audience for Children and Family Musicals" by Won Chi-soo (Teacher at Baemyeong Elementary School).

Lee Jong-gyu, director of the Korean Musical Association, stated, "I find it very encouraging that topics not previously addressed beyond existing industry-related subjects can be discussed through the Musical Festival Forum Stage," adding, "As a festival for all musical artists, I hope it becomes a place where diverse opinions for the development of the genre are expressed."

This free event can be joined via the application link on the official website of the Korean Musical Association. Registration is limited to the first 30 applicants.

On the 26th, a forum on the theme "Metaverse and Musical" regarding the convergence of the two genres is scheduled to take place.
