Ulju-gun Opens Applications for Returning Fishermen Entrepreneurship and Housing Purchase Support... 300 Million KRW for Entrepreneurship, 75 Million KRW for Housing Purchase Support Ulju County Office.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Dongguk Lee] Ulju-gun, Ulsan City is accepting applications for the '2023 Return-to-Fishing Startup and Housing Purchase Support Project' for returnees to fishing and non-fishing residents in fishing villages until the 27th.


This project is promoted to increase the vitality of fishing communities by supporting startup and housing funds so that urban residents wishing to return to fishing can settle stably in fishing villages.


Eligible applicants are returnees to fishing aged 65 or younger, who have lived outside fishing villages for more than one year or have not exceeded five years since moving to a fishing village.


Non-fishing residents in fishing villages who reside in fishing areas must be registered residents for more than one year and must not have experience in fishery or aquaculture management within the last five years.


Both returnees to fishing and non-fishing residents must have completed at least five days (35 hours) of return-to-fishing related education within the last five years.


If selected, return-to-fishing startups can receive up to 300 million KRW, and housing purchases up to 75 million KRW, supported at an annual interest rate of 2%. Startup and housing purchase funds can be applied for separately.


Applicants can visit the Fisheries and Livestock Division of Ulju-gun Office with the required documents posted on the Ulju-gun website announcement.


An official from Ulju-gun said, "We ask for the interest of many people wishing to return to fishing in Ulju-gun, which has a natural marine environment," and added, "We will do our best to ensure the project contributes to the revitalization of the local fishing villages."
