Hapcheon-gun, a Strong Start for a Hopeful Future of Hapcheon Gyeongnam Hapcheon-gun 2023 New Year's Opening Ceremony of the Year of the Rabbit.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, declared a vigorous start to create a "Hopeful Future Hapcheon" at the beginning of the Year of the Rabbit 2023, with over 150 attendees including private award recipients and public officials at the large conference room on the 3rd floor of the county office on the 2nd.


The opening ceremony began with Deputy County Governor Lee Seon-gi reading the Public Officials' Charter, followed by the awarding of commendations, a New Year's address, and the singing of the county anthem. The awards were personally presented by County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol to institutions, organizations, residents, and public officials who contributed significantly to the development of national and provincial policies as well as county administration.


Governor Kim stated in his New Year's address, "We are steadily progressing projects for the happiness of residents and the future of Hapcheon, such as the commencement of detailed design following the confirmation of the location for the Southern Inland High-Speed Railway Hapcheon Station, the ongoing construction of the Hamyang-Ulsan Expressway, and the development of the Hapcheon meteorite crater." He added, "To create a hopeful future Hapcheon where residents can smile, we will focus on 'promoting innovative regional development to overcome the risk of population extinction,' 'building a wellness Hapcheon harmonizing happiness and health,' 'developing new income resources and fostering young and smart agriculture,' 'constructing a safe, healthy, and sustainable Hapcheon,' and 'making Hapcheon a happy place for women and children.'"


Following the opening ceremony, the county governor along with heads of departments and divisions at the county office visited the Memorial Tower for the Fallen Heroes, the March 1st Independence Movement Monument, and the Changui Shrine to pay respects through flower offerings, incense burning, and silent prayers for the patriotic martyrs and national heroes.
