Syrian Airport Paralyzed by Israeli Airstrikes... 4 Dead

[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] The international airport in Damascus, the capital of Syria, was paralyzed and four people were killed due to an airstrike by Israel.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a monitoring group for the Syrian civil war, reported on the 2nd (local time) that Damascus Airport was hit by a missile attack, resulting in a total of four deaths, including two Syrian government soldiers.

According to the Observatory, the attack was extensively carried out targeting pro-Iranian militia facilities around the airport, and some airport facilities, including the runway, were also damaged.

The Syrian Ministry of Defense also issued a statement on the same day, saying, "Around 2 a.m., missiles were launched from the area near the Sea of Galilee (northern Israel) toward Damascus and its surrounding areas," and announced that the operation of Damascus International Airport was suspended due to the impact of the airstrike.

This airstrike occurred just days after the Israeli military announced its 2023 military operation plan. The Israeli military regularly conducts missile attacks on various facilities in Syria.
