Breeze to Launch Wireless Earsets and Solutions
Expected as Early as First Half of the Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] LG Electronics will unveil 'Breeze,' a sleep care product that induces sleep and helps achieve deep sleep through real-time analysis and management, at CES 2023. This innovative model, planned and launched by its in-house independent company (CIC), is expected to be released as early as the first half of the year.
On the 5th (local time), LG Electronics announced that it will showcase Breeze, a smart sleep care solution, at CES 2023, the world's largest home appliance and IT exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA. Breeze (brid.zzz) carries the meaning in its name of ‘providing customers with a refreshing morning like a gentle breeze.’ It consists of a dedicated wireless earset that measures brainwaves and plays sleep care sounds, and an app that analyzes sleep data to provide sleep care solutions.
The wireless earset features an ergonomic design that offers comfortable wear while sleeping. Weighing 6g per ear, it is characterized by being light enough to wear for extended periods without discomfort. The case for charging and storing the earset supports the UVnano function. UVnano is a portmanteau of ultraviolet (UV) LED that reduces harmful bacteria and nanometer, the unit of ultraviolet wavelength.
Breeze cares for sleep with various sound sources including brainwave entrainment sounds, lullabies composed by domestic and international artists such as Lucid Fall, and ASMR sounds like those of nature. It comes preloaded with over 80 sounds, allowing users to add brainwave entrainment sounds to their favorite music or YouTube videos for playback. Brainwave entrainment sounds display different frequencies to the left and right brain, using the frequency difference to induce sleep or promote transition to specific sleep states by guiding brainwaves.
Breeze analyzes sleep data, learns autonomously, and then suggests better sleep patterns. Equipped with a brainwave detection sensor, it detects the user's brainwaves in real time and precisely measures sleep patterns by stage, including the sleep onset stage where consciousness is still present just before falling asleep, and the sleep stage. It also collects various information from the user's living environment, such as daily step count and sleep patterns, to provide personalized sleep care solutions. For example, on days with high activity levels, it helps the user achieve deep sleep.
Breeze is an innovative model planned and launched by LG Electronics' CIC, the 'SleepWave Company.' To introduce Breeze, SleepWave Company operated a trial group of 1,000 users for two months starting in October last year, identifying user pain points in advance. The company plans to reflect areas needing improvement in the product and aims to launch Breeze domestically as early as the first half of the year.
Meanwhile, LG Electronics announced that it will create the ‘LG Labs Zone’ at CES 2023 to exhibit experimental innovative products and services. LG Labs is a project that showcases differentiated new brand experiences through experimental and flexible processes by presenting advanced products. LG Electronics plans to unveil Breeze along with a shared mobility wireless charging station service (PlusPot), a new concept device that assists muscle exercise (HoverGym), and an indoor cycling service (ExCycle), among others.
