Six Outstanding and Exemplary Public Officials Selected in Seo-gu, Gwangju

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shin Dong-ho] Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim I-gang) announced on the 30th the 2022 Outstanding Public Officials and Model Public Officials.

The Outstanding Public Officials selected were Kim Min-suk, Head of the Contract Team in the Accounting Information Division; Shin Jin, Head of the Sports Facilities Team in the Sports and Tourism Division; and Seo Ok-ju, Secretary of the Planning and General Affairs Committee in the Council Secretariat.

The Model Public Officials selected were Park Yong-geum, Head of the Care Policy Team in the Smart Integrated Care Office; Jo On-suk, Head of the Safety Management Team in the Safety General Division; and Moon Eun-ah, Officer in the Infectious Disease Control Division.

Seo-gu held the year-end closing ceremony for 2022 along with commendations for meritorious service, concluding the district administration work for the year.

Mayor Kim I-gang of Seo-gu said, “This year was a very difficult and challenging time due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic combined with the economic crisis, but at the same time, it was a very special year preparing for new changes in Seo-gu.”

He added, “By implementing field-centered communication administration, we rediscovered Seo-gu’s identity, values, and charm in villages and alleys, and it was a time to reaffirm the earnest dreams of our residents who want to enjoy small but certain happiness.”

Furthermore, he emphasized, “The valuable sweat and efforts of the staff led to brilliant achievements such as being the first nationwide, the only one in Gwangju, and the highest number ever. This will be a precious driving force leading Seo-gu’s new changes in the future.”

Meanwhile, Seo-gu was the only local government among 243 nationwide selected for the senior smart care service establishment contest project this year, and recently achieved the great feat of winning four crowns in the regional welfare project evaluation.

In addition, Seo-gu achieved remarkable results in various evaluations, including being selected as the best institution in the comprehensive evaluation of local price stabilization management, ranking first for three consecutive years in Gwangju’s local regulatory innovation evaluation, being selected the most for excellent cases for seven consecutive years at the National Resident Autonomy Expo, and being selected as the best autonomous district in the carbon point system operation evaluation.
