Quantum Mini LED Equipped Flat Design... Supports Quantum Matrix Technology and Matte Display
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] Samsung Electronics announced on the 27th that it will launch the 43-inch large-screen gaming monitor 'Odyssey Neo G7' equipped with Quantum Mini LED in the domestic market. This expands the premium gaming monitor lineup alongside previously introduced curved design products such as the Odyssey Ark. It is also planned to be showcased at CES 2023, held in Las Vegas, USA, on the 5th of next month.
The Odyssey Neo G7 (model name: G70NC) is a flat design product supporting a 16:9 aspect ratio with 4K resolution (3840x2160). As a model optimized for gaming, it offers features such as ▲Quantum Matrix ▲Matte Display ▲Online Video Service (OTT) and Samsung Gaming Hub service ▲Flex Move Screen.
The Odyssey Neo G7 uses Quantum Mini LEDs as the light source, which are 1/40th the size of conventional LEDs in height. Applying Samsung's proprietary image quality technology, Quantum Matrix, it supports a dynamic contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1 and delicate black details. It also has VESA Display HDR™ 600 and HDR10+ gaming certification, expressing screen brightness and contrast as intended by game developers.
The Odyssey Neo G7 also applies a matte display to minimize screen brightness or color distortion caused by ambient light. It supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro to reduce screen tearing during high-spec games. It features a 144Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time (MPRT), providing smooth gaming visuals.
As a gaming-specialized product, the Odyssey Neo G7 allows cloud gaming through Samsung Gaming Hub, a streaming game platform integration service. It also offers services to enjoy OTT content such as Netflix and Amazon Prime Video without separately connecting to a PC or TV.
Additionally, it supports features like Flex Move Screen, which adjusts screen size and position according to game genres, and Ultra Wide Game View, which allows screen adjustment to a 21:9 ratio. Other features include ▲two HDMI 2.1 slots ▲DisplayPort 1.4 ▲two USB 3.0 ports ▲and 20W stereo speakers.
Samsung Electronics will sell the new Odyssey Neo G7 on online open markets such as 11st and Gmarket starting from the 2nd of next month. The suggested retail price is 1,250,000 KRW. Along with the Odyssey Neo G7, four other monitors including the 2023 models Odyssey G7 32-inch and 28-inch (G70B), and Odyssey G5 32-inch and 27-inch (G51C) will also be sold. The product will be introduced to global markets including North America, starting with Korea.
