Geochang-gun Selected as Best in Water Play Category in Disaster Safety Evaluation

Enhancing the Efficiency of Disaster Management Operations

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province, announced on the 27th that it was selected as the best local government in the water play sector in the 2022 disaster safety inspection performance evaluation conducted by Gyeongnam Province.

This evaluation was conducted to improve the efficiency of disaster work promotion by basic local governments in Gyeongnam Province and to reflect the results of the joint evaluation of major tasks in the disaster safety inspection sector, covering overall disaster prevention work throughout the year.

The evaluation contents included ▲appropriateness of the Type 3 facility status survey under the Facility Safety Act ▲status of corrective actions on issues pointed out in the provincial sample inspection results of disaster-vulnerable facilities ▲promotion status of safety management for water play, local festivals, and children's playground facilities ▲operation and management status such as revision of crisis management manuals in the disaster sector.

Governor Gu In-mo said, “We will do our best to create a safe water play environment to prevent safety accidents for residents and tourists visiting during the vacation season.”

Geochang-gun operates summer heatwave countermeasures and water play safety measures during the summer season to prevent safety accidents, and is making efforts to prevent accidents by conducting inspections of multi-use facilities and others.
