Goheung-gun Wins 'Excellence Award' for Namdo Food Street Premium Project

Recognized for Various Efforts to Improve 'Nokdong Jangeo Street'

[Goheung=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Shim Jeong-woo] Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 26th that it won the 'Grand Prize' in the excellent city and county evaluation of the Jeollanam-do Namdo Food Street Premium Project.

This evaluation was conducted on 15 cities and counties operating food streets in Jeollanam-do, assessing four indicators: project plan establishment, appropriateness of budget securing and execution, project promotion, and Namdo Food Street publicity performance.

Goheung-gun received high scores for promoting the revitalization of Nokdong Eel Street through four rounds of meetings, developing four recipes including fried eel with consulting from Chef Jin Kyung-soo, who served as the head chef of F&B at the Blue House, and independently implementing projects to improve the aging Nokdong Eel Street.

An official from Goheung-gun said, "Once the facility improvements of Nokdong Eel Street are completed in the first half of next year, Nokdong will become an even more attractive tourist destination." He added, "We will continue to do our best to revitalize the food street by steadily promoting restaurant customer service training, expert consulting, and promoting popular restaurants."
