Park Hong-geun "Evidence of illegal acts by Mrs. Kim and her daughter is overflowing... Truth must be revealed through a special investigation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] On the 26th, the Democratic Party of Korea mentioned the introduction of a special prosecutor (special investigation) regarding the 'Deutsche Motors stock manipulation suspicion' involving Kim Geon-hee, the wife of President Yoon Seok-yeol. This is interpreted as a countermeasure following the prosecution's summons notice to party leader Lee Jae-myung on the 28th over the Seongnam FC sponsorship fund suspicion.
On the same day, Park Hong-geun, the floor leader of the Democratic Party, stated at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly in the morning, "There is already an overwhelming amount of evidence of illegal acts committed by Kim Geon-hee and her mother," adding, "If Yoon Seok-yeol's prosecution continues to overlook the 'living power,' our party will have no choice but to clearly reveal the truth through a 'special prosecutor.'
Floor leader Park highlighted the recently disclosed recording of President Yoon's mother-in-law, Choi Eun-soon, and reexamined the circumstances in which Choi shared information with Kwon Oh-soo, the former chairman of Deutsche Motors, who was recently sentenced to 8 years in prison on stock manipulation charges. He said, "'When I spoke with Kwon Oh-soo, he told me to sell quickly'?this is a statement from Choi Eun-soon," and questioned, "With such vivid voice evidence, is the presidential family 'above the law'?"
Park said, "It has been over a year since the suspicion of stock manipulation accomplices involving Kim Geon-hee and her mother was raised. However, the prosecution has neither summoned nor even conducted a written investigation of Kim Geon-hee," and criticized, "On the other hand, they revived a case already closed to summon party leader Lee Jae-myung. The justice and common sense of Yoon Seok-yeol's prosecutorial republic are not functioning at all."
He continued, "The president verbally preaches law, principles, and fairness, but in reality, sanctifies Kim Geon-hee and her mother," criticizing.
Park also pressured the People Power Party, saying, "If you continue to respond with 'don't ask' regarding the stock manipulation charges even after listening to the recordings, you will clearly be stigmatized as the 'Kim Geon-hee bulletproof party,'" and urged, "If the People Power Party has common sense and conscience, it should actively cooperate with the Kim Geon-hee special prosecutor according to the will of the people."
